Content policy
Draft pending legal review. This text describes how Yakkery is built to work; it is not yet a binding agreement.
Every page on the web can have a conversation on Yakkery. These rules keep those conversations worth having.
Not allowed
- Illegal content, and any sexual content involving minors
- Credible threats and incitement to violence
- Targeted harassment, and sharing someone's private information
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Spam, scams, malware links, and coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Impersonating people or organizations
Allowed, with limits
- Political speech and criticism of public figures.
- Adult content only about sites in the Adult category, marked, hidden by default, and never shown to minors.
- Misinformation is labeled with a link to a take that disputes it rather than removed, unless it also breaks a rule above.
What happens
Reports are triaged by severity. Moderators can remove, label, warn, suspend, or ban, and can put a page in slow mode during pile-ons. You're told what happened and why, and you can appeal to a different moderator.
